Focus on food safety
Food safety is a common topic in the world
In 2019, the food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (who) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) issued a joint statement stating: "foodborne diseases seriously affect public health, food safety and social production, and exacerbate poverty. Every year, nearly 600 million people suffer from various foodborne diseases, about 420000 people die of various foodborne diseases, and 30% of the dead are children under the age of 5."

Food safety is an important strategy of China
The 13th five year plan released in March 2016 proposed to upgrade the food safety strategy to a national strategy for the first time; In March 2021, the 14th five year plan clearly stated that it would "deeply implement the food safety strategy" and improve the food safety laws, regulations and standard system.

Ensuring food safety throughout the supply chain

With people's increasing awareness and requirements for the quality and safety of food and agricultural products, it is very important for supply chain participants from farmland to dining table to actively improve the level of food safety management.

There are many links in the supply chain of food production. The participants in each link are different from production, distribution, sales to consumption, which makes the supply chain structure complex. Many food programs require certification of the production of crops, animal feed and practices involving procurement, harvesting and slaughter, so different types of accreditation and conformity assessment activities are required.

Third party certification bodies can provide comprehensive services and innovative solutions to each circulation link of various organizations in the whole food supply chain (including agricultural product production enterprises, processing enterprises, plant protection product production enterprises, food equipment and packaging material manufacturers, retail subcontractors, catering services and operators). In terms of reducing food waste and saving natural resources such as clean drinking water, food producers also face pressure from regulators. Food manufacturers can use the services of inspection, testing and certification bodies to monitor and prove whether their products meet the requirements of standards, regulations and so on.

In a broader sense, the implementation of food supply chain sustainability certification is not only for the safety of food itself, but also for the sustainable development interests of environment, economy, personnel and all relevant stakeholders in the process of food production.

The storage and display of food in the retail environment also benefits from the certification activities of store services, processes and management systems. Food certification services are used to protect consumers and allow economic operators to ensure the same quality in their global supply chains. These are of great significance for achieving the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (sdgs).

FSSC 22000 escorts the food supply chain

FSSC 22000 certification is developed by the foundation for food safety certification, covering FSMs & nbsp; (ISO 22000), combined with some industry-specific technical specification prerequisite schemes (PRPs), hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) defined by the international food code (Codex) and additional requirements of the global food safety initiative (GFSI), and has been recognized by GFSI. FSSC 22000 is a sound, globally recognized food safety management system standard applicable to all enterprises in the food supply chain.

FSSC 22000 is an internationally recognized food safety system. Food enterprises such as COFCO, Nestle, McDonald's, Coca Cola, Danone, Cargill and kraft, as well as retail giants such as metro, Wal Mart, China Resources Vanguard and Carrefour have passed FSSC 22000 certification and take FSSC 22000 certification as the evaluation requirement of suppliers.
